Enamels
|
Thompson Enamel carries a full line of opaque and
transparent enamels for use on copper, silver, gold,
stainless and low carbon steel,
as well as enamels for window, stained, Effetre (Moretti)
glass and hot glass blowing. Our full line offers enamels in
powder form (80 mesh standard - can be ground to
different mesh sizes, eg. 325 mesh), 6/20 mesh for beadmaking,
or unground, unsifted enamel (opaques - air
cooled; transparents - air cooled, water cracked; size varies from
approx. 1/8" to 2"), in a wide variety of hues and colors.
All enamel products in
our catalog are numbered into a practical coded numbering system
which indicates enamel type and color. This coding can be
easily seen by examining our color
charts here. The thousands number indicated enamel
type while the hundreds number indicates the color. The final
two numbers indicate how light or dark that color is. For
example, 1505 is an opaque pastel greenish blue for copper, and 2680
is a transparent dark blue for copper.

IMPORTANT: Since color photography cannot
accurately
reproduce the true richness and brilliance of these colors,
and since all computers, monitors and browsers display
colors differently, we suggest a pallet of fired samples be made.
