This catalog/book/document traces the development of enameling in the United States during a richly productive period of our history. The authors’ effort and prospective informs all of the heritage from written in three time periods of enameling during the 50 years covered in the catalog. Both Hal and Bernard elected to document a specific time period. To this end, history in the Untied States will have a collective reference point that will give evidence for the rest of time. By eliminating jewelry from the context, the art of enameling could be addressed as something more than personal adornment.
